Hi, I'm Stephanie |

I get it. I’m a mom to two fantastic little girls. But as fantastic as they are, it’s not always easy. Pregnancy can be uncomfortable, exhausting, exciting, seem to last forever, magical, empowering or downright painful. Creating and taking care of these little humans is a wild ride, which we sometimes lose ourselves in. Finding time to take care of YOU will benefit them just as much.
Through my teens and early twenties I suffered with Bladder Pain Syndrome. I didn’t know that’s what it was at the time, because the awareness and research on some of these pelvic floor dysfunctions were not well known. So, when I tried pelvic physio during my second pregnancy (yes the PHYSIO didn’t even know enough about it the first time around!!) I was so excited to have some guidance.
I had a wonderful labour and delivery experience both times (although my husband has a different opinion on that) but my recovery was so much easier after pelvic physio with my second. Just having an understanding of what was going on down there, how to relax my pelvic floor and how to do a proper kegel made such a huge difference for me.

My goal with this practice is to provide a compassionate space for moms and pregnant people to come for the kind of care they need – whether it’s physical care, emotional support, guidance in self-care or just someone to help figure things out with. I have gathered a small team of physios to do just this. For me, Stephanie, I have decided to focus on raising my beautiful girls for now. I support my team in any way that I can, so that pregnant people in Ontario can still be taken care of the way that I wanted to be when I was in that phase.
We'll be here for you whether the bump is in the belly, or there's a bump down the road. Just reach out for a little help. |

Hi, I'm Sara
Hi, I’m Sara and I’m so glad to be here. Physiotherapy is my profession but pelvic health is my passion.
I graduated from the physiotherapy program at McMaster University in 2014 and quickly began a career in general orthopaedic physiotherapy. I took my first pelvic health course shortly after that and was quickly hooked. Working so closely with women (and men too!), educating them about their pelvic health became my full time job! Since then, I have completed several specialized pelvic health courses, focusing on rehabilitating a part of the body that often goes ignored and neglected. My favourite population to work with quickly became people during pregnancy and their postpartum period. Seeing people through this exciting and challenging time, providing them with resources, information, exercises and tools is a job I love. I, myself, have now gone through this process twice, bringing two wonderful little girls into the world. I have seen first hand how pelvic health physiotherapy can assist through pregnancy and postpartum recovery. I’m very excited to be a part of the SBPT team and work alongside these midwife groups. I look forward to meeting you soon! |
